I am a Research Fellow based jointly in University College Dublin, Ireland and Pwani University, Kenya. My work particularly focuses on developing new approaches for using environmental DNA (eDNA), ranging from non-invasive sampling of endangered animals (such as elephants), to examining past biodiversity using sediment cores. I am currently leading an international project working with Revive & Restore to develop new genomic tools for African Elephant conservation in Kenya. I also work as a contributor to the Long Now Foundation.
